Got this tiny snowblower on Facebook Marketplace for $50. I had to grab it since it’s a 4 stroke with electric start. Only downside was it’s a push blower…
I used to have the monster you see behind it but something changed my mind….
I used to just send Nick out with the Ariens..
Or I’d use my plow
Which got replaced with the Monster
But then I got that mini and thought that was nice but needed power dirve like it’s bigger brother.
Then I got a Hoveround….
next thing you know I’m designing and welding up a frame
At first I thought heim joints on the ends but my father always said I over engineered things so I just cut a few pices of round tubing and welded them to some square tubing….
I made the brackets in Scad and cut them out of some scrap 1/8 inch plate that was rusting away in the corner of the shop. These just bolt on between the factory handle using the original bolts so no permanent mod to the blower. Same with the Hoveround. It had extra holes in the frame for raising the foot rest
and voilà there it is
New knobby tires helped but i want taller and wider AG tires next….
I also upgraded to a pair of 12V 100AH Lithium batteries.
That XHD frame is so big I probably could have gone to 150AH.
So far so good….
I kept the bigger self drive Ariens as a backup and the plow blade since if I get ambitious some day I can turn that into a bucket loader…..
A heated seat is next when we thaw out up here…
