I had saved this daughterboard from the old Sierra game days… I found an OLD external 3.5″ SCSI drive case. It already had a 5 pin Din jack. just had to make a filler for the DB25 slot.
Just had to remove these cables
Made a simple interface using a couple of b0512s-1wr3 5V to 12V isolated converters and an opto coupler. This allows it to run on a single 5V supply.
I did leave the SCSI id switch in to block the opening…
It already had a nice conductive coating on the inside of the case for noise. A few self stick pcb standoffs and done….
Even has a built in slide out handle! I may spray it silver or not. I did wire the power led and even hooked the activity led to the midi data….
