My old Jazzy suddenly quit with a controller error (8 Flashes). So I did the basic checks for continuity and isolation on the motors, brakes and chassis. All good there. Then I opened the controller and immediately saw the issue. A cap was swolen… But even stranger was one seemed to be missing…
I decided to swap all caps and install the missing one.
I gave all connections a good cleaning with DeOxit. I was not impressed by the way all connections to the chair except the hand controller are simply clamped to the board by these rubber pads.
Happy to say it works great again. Even strong enough to move a hoveround chair on a trailer….
And yes, my jazzy has a trailer hitch welded to it…..
