I made those encapsulated USB connectors for a simple project.
A bluetooth speaker for the patio. I know you can buy these but I got some really nice sounding computer speakers at a yard sale.
add a $4 usb bluetooth dongle and your set. I could just have plugged the dongle into a cell phone charger but thats too easy.
luckily there was plenty of space inside to add the connector on the side and a 5V regulator on the amps heatsink
Great sound and I wont be mad if it gets knocked around….
