I really like the full size through hole USB B connectors. Too bad so many development boards use mini or micro surface mount connectors.
I’ve started mounting all my development boards on a scrap of flooring. A quick trip to Lowe’s for #4 wood screws and to the dollar store for some beads and I have supplies for a year.
These bracelet and necklace beads make perfect standoffs
I mark the holes with a pencil and pre-drill them.
That takes care of mounting the board
Then I 3D print a cup to hold the cables still
Just a little pinch from tightening the screw makes it solid
