{"id":1362,"date":"2018-07-17T04:26:21","date_gmt":"2018-07-16T14:26:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/commons.pratt.edu\/open-source\/?p=1052"},"modified":"2018-07-17T04:26:21","modified_gmt":"2018-07-16T14:26:21","slug":"simple-air-flow-meter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kornequipped.com\/blog\/?p=1362","title":{"rendered":"Simple Air Flow Meter"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I needed a simple air flow meter for a project so I went out to the garage and grabbed a MAF that was pulled from a Hyundai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/es.pratt.edu\/Commons\/Images\/MAF\/IMG_1018.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I used a PIC 18F2550 board I had from another project and a small boost converter to make it completely USB powered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This particular MAF has the IAT sensor built in so it reports air temperature too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just breathing into it shows a decent response.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/es.pratt.edu\/Commons\/Images\/MAF\/Screen%20Shot%202018-07-14%20at%205.22.55%20AM.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I tested it with a couple of fans I had lying around.
