Too bad so many development boards use mini or micro surface mount connectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve started mounting all my development boards on a scrap of flooring. A quick trip to Lowe&#8217;s for #4 wood screws and to the dollar store for some beads and I have supplies for a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/es.pratt.edu\/Commons\/Images\/meetup\/IMG_2137.JPG\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>These bracelet and necklace beads make perfect standoffs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/es.pratt.edu\/Commons\/Images\/meetup\/IMG_2138.JPG\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I mark the holes with a pencil and pre-drill them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/es.pratt.edu\/Commons\/Images\/meetup\/IMG_2139.JPG\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>That takes care of mounting the board<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/es.pratt.edu\/Commons\/Images\/meetup\/IMG_2541.JPG\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Then&nbsp; I 3D print a cup to hold the cables still<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/es.pratt.edu\/Commons\/Images\/meetup\/IMG_2542.JPG\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Just a little pinch from tightening the screw makes it solid<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I really like the full size through hole USB B connectors.
