{"id":1270,"date":"2015-03-26T13:33:10","date_gmt":"2015-03-26T17:33:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/commons.pratt.edu\/open-source\/?p=168"},"modified":"2015-03-26T13:33:10","modified_gmt":"2015-03-26T17:33:10","slug":"3d-printed-cases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kornequipped.com\/blog\/?p=1270","title":{"rendered":"3D Printed Cases"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I have a whole drawful of 3D printed parts. many are protective cases for small boards like load cell amplifiers or thumb sticks<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/es.pratt.edu\/Commons\/Images\/3d_tips\/cases\/IMG_3727.JPG\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A simple 45 degree angled case for a PIR motion detector<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/es.pratt.edu\/Commons\/Images\/3d_tips\/cases\/IMG_3723.JPG\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A Printrbot fan shroud that might work well on the CNC router too<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/es.pratt.edu\/Commons\/Images\/3d_tips\/cases\/IMG_3730.JPG\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The best part is being able to customize the cases to fit the board like this BLE thumbstick<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/es.pratt.edu\/Commons\/Images\/3d_tips\/cases\/IMG_0095.JPG\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Its a nice snug fit and the end cap hold pretty well with no glue needed<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/es.pratt.edu\/Commons\/Images\/3d_tips\/cases\/IMG_0096.JPG\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The leds show right through the side. of course it does help that at that particular location in the case the sidewall is thinner that the rest of the case.
